A Tag of 29 Things...

FIRST: I hope you like my new festive background! Happy Holidays!!
SECOND: I was tagged! My answers are as follows...

1. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?
YES! I have what you would call a "weak stomach." I hate the doctor -- ok, well maybe not the man, just what he does.

2. What do you think of hot dogs? I think they're great.

3. Favorite Christmas movie? Elf, duh.

4. Do you do push ups? Yeah sometimes, but I don't think they are real push ups.

5. What's your favorite piece of jewelry? Oh goodness... that is tough, considering I love jewelry. Maybe my flower earrings. They are fabulous.

6. Favorite hobby? Snowboarding.

7. Do you have A.D.D.? Yeah, I'll be honest... I have a hard time sitting still for long periods of time.

8. What's one trait you hate about yourself? I get really anxious about things... and then I can't sleep.

9. Middle name? Elise

10. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment? "I wish the apartment next to mine didn't play loud music and wake me up from my nap... I am looking forward to dinner... Why is there no snow on the ground?"

11. Current worry? When should I move to California?

12. Favorite place to be? Either on top of a mountain, in a foreign country, or snuggled up on a couch with blankets, hot chocolate, and good company.

13. Where would you like to go? Australia/New Zealand, Switzerland, China, Costa Rica, South Africa, France, London, ... the list could go on.

14. Do you own slippers? Of course... I'm obsessed with them. So cozy.

15. What's your nickname? I have many -- Milly, Mills, Millers, Meal Head, Meal Face, Face, Camillio, Jagga, Camizzle...

16. What year would you go back in time to? Probably 1969. I would love to be in the hay-day of hippie-dom and prime Beatles music.

17. Can you whistle? Ha! no. I sound like a dying bird.

18. Favorite color? Green

19. Would you be a pirate? Yes I would. I'm actually related to a pirate... matey.

20. Last thing that made you laugh? My brother-in-law during church. He's goofy and teases me a lot. It's ok though, I can take it.

21. Worst injury you've ever had? Pulled my MCL in my knee during soccer tryouts... hurt like crazy, and has left me with weak knees (literally of course, but also figuratively I guess)

22. Do you remember your first kiss? Of course! That would be weird if I didn't.

23. How many dogs do you have? Zero. I'm not a big dog person... Blame it on me mam.

24. Does someone have a crush on you? That's a weird question.

25. What is your favorite movie(s)?: Across the Universe, Beaches, Pride and Prejudice, What a Wonderful Life

26. What is your favorite candy? Peanut M&M's!!

27. Favorite Sports: To play? Probably soccer, tennis, golf, or rockclimbing (if that is considered a sport)

28. Your favorite meal? Probably dinner. It's the most substantial.

29. Do you have any odd habits? Totally. I pop my knuckles, play with my hair when I'm bored, sing in the shower, am addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper, love yoga, and can absolutely devour a bowl of chips and salsa.

Viva!

Saturday night I saw COLDPLAY live. I honestly don't think I can quite put the experience into words. They probably put on the best show I have ever seen. The lights, the energy, the sound, the playlist, and of course the music was amazing. Maybe the fact that I was literally brought to tears will give you an idea of what that show meant to me.

We had pretty awesome nosebleed seats, but at one point the band played in the middle of the crowd. Jace and I ran up and were able to be approximately 10 feet away from Chris Martin, the love of my life. But unfortunately I didn't have my camera... so this one of Jace and I waiting for the band to come out will have to suffice.

VIVA LA VIDA my friends!

Brother/Sister go dancing through my head...

Today I am grateful. I am grateful for a lot of things, like warm weather, sleep, seeing old friends, an awesome longboard ride, and good music. But I mostly just want to express how grateful I am for Brittney and Jace, my amazing siblings.

My big sis and little bro are two of the biggest blessings in my life. They have truly become two of my best friends. Sometimes I just consider it a part of life, but when stepping back I realize I am so lucky to have two people like them who I feel that I can say anything to and not be judged. We are honest with each other, which is something I value. They give the best advice, and I know I can talk to them about anything. But mostly, we just have a good time and laugh about stupid things that are not really that funny.

Oh and also, I am grateful for Stuart, the newest addition to the McLaws sibling-ry. (I think I just made up a word, but it's my blog so I can if I want). He is great, and makes us laugh even more than we used to.

Anyway, now that I am officially a cheeseball, I love you guys! Thanks for everything.

"I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink..."

Random fact about Camille day:

Sometimes I can't sleep. Sometimes I lay in bed for hours with my eyes closed, but I am smart and know that I'm not really sleeping. It's usually caused by my overactive brain that goes crazy the second I lay down. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. Tonight, for example, I have tried a lot of things... I have gotten out of bed to get a drink, go to the bathroom, etc. hoping that will get some restlessness out. I have opened the window to let cool air in the room cause I'm really uncomfortably hot. I have opened a book to try and read. And now I have turned to the computer, hoping this will make me tired. But since it hasn't, it is your lucky day and you are now reading a blog post about it.

PS. The picture is of my little brother Jace at about age 2 sleeping, which is something I wish I was doing right now as it is almost 3 am. Maybe a batman suit will fix the problem...

FICTIONIST

Friday night I saw an amazing concert. I LOVE concerts, and this one might be near the top of my list. Fictionist, formerly known as Good Morning Maxfield, rocked the Velour Music Gallery for a couple hours. Literally though, I was rocking out. I could say so much about this concert and the band, but like most things you've got to "see it to believe it." The talent of the six guys on stage is incredible; everytime I see them I am reminded of how music takes me to a place unreachable by anything else. Words cannot explain the feeling.

I think the peak of this show for me was when they played "I want You, She's So Heavy" by the Beatles. It has always been a dream of mine to hear a Beatles song live, and this blew my mind. So, umm... thanks guys. I mean it.

High Tide, Low Tide

When I was little we went on a trip to California. I was born and had been living in Utah, and therefore wasn't too accustomed to the ocean.

My older sister Brittney and my cousin Megan ran out to put their feet in the water and play with the tide a little. "Wait for me!" I shouted as I gleefully ran after them.

Less than a minute later I was hit by a pretty powerful wave, at least for my size and experience, and got pulled under. When I walked back to my mommy and daddy wanting a hug, all I got was a lot of laughing from everyone. I didn't understand why they were laughing, and to this day I still held a slight grudge when remembering the experience or seeing this picture.

However, tonight I saw this picture and started laughing. Now I understand.

Aida

Last night I went and saw "Aida" at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. I have one word to explain this experience: WOW.

I was 110% impressed with this production. The singing, acting, stage props, etc. were all incredible. And if any of you have been to the Hale Center Theater you will know it's an "in-your-face" type of production. My friend and I were on the front row, and therefore approximately 2 feet from the action.

This show just reaffirmed how amazing Elton John is in my eyes... ok ok, he's a little "strange" but, nonetheless, still rocks my world.

Point is... GO SEE IT. You won't regret it.

Rain, I don't mind

It's raining today.

But if you know me even a little you will know that I LOVE THE RAIN. It makes me happier for some reason. Call me weird, but you know, that's just how it goes.

I decided to make today a special day and biked to both classes. I found an odd amount of enjoyment getting my face all wet, so I thought, hmm... maybe I should go on a run. So that's what I did! I ran... and ran... and ran... and then noticed I had been running for over an hour. So, I have thus concluded that my new favorite thing is going for a run in the rain.

Rain + good music + endorphins = happy Camille

Here's a little song about rain for your listening pleasure. One of my favorites for sure.

Canyons, Weddings, and Kitties

GOOD NEWS! My computer is fixed! I decided I would reward the world with a new post.

Life has been super busy lately with all sorts of activities.

I will take you back a few weeks when I went to southern Utah with my Canyoneering class to go through some canyons -- Ding and Dang canyon and Baptist Draw. It was a BLAST. I was reminded that being outside really is my happy place, and that canyoneering is something I could get a little obsessed with. Unfortunately, I think I need to make money first. Here are some pics:
Rappelling down the 80-footer
I made some awesome friends.
I seriously chose the wrong major... Ps. I don't really know what I'm doing in this picture. Whatever.

This last weekend I took a little trip down to Laguna Beach to see one of my best friends in the whole wide world become the new Mrs. Elyse Garlock. The wedding was seriously beautiful, Elyse was traffic-stopping gorgeous, and I was so glad I got to be a part of the festivities. Congratulations Andrew and Elyse!
The new Mr. and Mrs. Garlock coming out of the temple
Elyse looked incredible. So classy.
Coolest cake I've ever seen
Lauren and I. We wore blue.
The bridesmaids in Newport the night before -- What a fun group of girls.

And we can't forget about the holiday where grown ups dress up as weird characters and animals. Seriously bizarre, but totally fun. I was a cat. A black cat, that is.
My roommate Erin and I. Why not dress up as a cat and a pirate?
Meow.
